Burkhalter Named Savoy Athletic Director

The Savoy Cardinal Football team does not have a new head coach as they enter their first year of varsity 11 man football since 2001, but he does have a new title. Dusty Burkhalter, the man responsible for the resurrection of the Cardinal football program has been named Athletic Director for the district. Burkhalter is a Savoy alumnus and quarterbacked the Cardinals for some of their best seasons on record. “Coach Burkhalter has done an outstanding job for us for several years now and I am excited about where our athletic program will go under his leadership” said Superintendent Brian Neal. Burkhalter takes the athletic helm as the Cardinals enter begin the fall seasons with hopes of continued gridiron improvement from the boys and another year of deep volleyball playoff appearances from the girls.
