About Me
My name is Julie Grant and I am the third grade teacher at Savoy Elementary. My husband and I have two sons. The oldest is a 2006 Savoy High School graduate and UIL state champion in computer programming. He now attends the University of Texas in Austin majoring in computer programming. The youngest is a member of the 2009 senior class at Savoy High School. He is a member of the Java Team, Robotics Team and president of the Beta Club. We have one dog and two cats. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, working in my yard, scrapbooking, and reading.
Teaching Experience
I graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's of Science in elementary education. I have a Texas and Oklahoma teaching certificate in elementary education with certification to teach 1st through 8th grades in all basic subject areas (reading, math, social studies, science, and language arts). The 2008-2009 school year will be my ninth year of teaching at Savoy Elementary.

Not
only do I teach third grade but I coach the high school
robotics team. We compete in the North Texas BEST robotics hub
competition.
I also serve on the Savoy Elementary PTO Board as treasurer. I
love being a cardinal fan. I enjoy watching the Savoy Cardinal
Jr High and High School teams compete in the various sports.
My favorite color is purple.
My favorite foods are Tex-Mex and Chinese.
My favorite candies are Peanut M & M's, Snickers, and Chewy Sweet Tarts.
My favorite candle scents are vanilla, cinnamon and country apple.
My favorite music types are rock and country. ( 70's & 80's Rock, Matchbox Twenty, George Strait, and Alan Jackson)
My favorite hobbies are gardening, scrapbooking, watching sports and reading.
