Career Investigations
This is a wonderful class that will help 8th graders start thinking about the pathways that their lives might take.  Now is the time to get serious about learning and doing our best because in the 9th grade  "everything counts!"  What that means is that  every grade you get in the 9th grade and up will go on your permanent record and follow you the rest of your life.

The  8th grade is the perfect time to  begin  investigating  our  interests,  our personality styles, and then begin looking at the  jobs and careers that match up to those.  We will be  looking at  the realities of what our visions of life in the future will be.  We will be utilizing technology and researching careers.  We will be having guests come into class to talk about their chosen careers.

By the end of the semester, 8th graders should have made a realistic choice as to the direction that their life might take.  Whether or not you wind up as what you chose in 8th grade is not as important as the conscious decision to work toward a certain goal.  In real life, our circumstances may change, our interests may change, but we need to be always working toward a goal of finding gainful employment that will fulfill our lives and make it all worthwhile.
