Biography of Molly
Jan Weger
My name is
Molly Jan Weger. I was born and raised
in Bells, Texas. I graduated from S.O.S.U. in Durant, Oklahoma. My husband, Mike, and I live on a small ranch
north of Bells. We have three children
and one precious granddaughter and a grandson on the way. I enjoy
spending time with my family, church activities, and reading.
I am from a
family of teachers. I have known since third grade, I wanted to be a teacher. I
have had the privilege of teaching in Savoy
for 31 years and have loved every minute of it.
I am proud to have had my three children graduate from this school,
knowing their emotional, social, and academic needs were met by caring and
dedicated teachers.
I have
taught in sixth, fifth, first, and currently second grade. I also teach Reading
Recovery. I am presently serving on the
site-base management team and am on the district Customer
Care team. I consider my most important
educational contribution to be helping to write a grant, becoming trained, and
establishing the Reading Recovery program at Savoy.
To be a part of this program a district must be committed to provide the
resources necessary to teach every first grader to read. Savoy is that kind of school district. I feel fortunate to teach at a school where
the board, administration, teachers/staff, and community truly believe “Every
kid, Every day, Whatever it takes.”
