Savoy High School students competed this past week at the District level UIL Academic meet in Bonham.  The following students won awards with several advancing to Regional competition.


Calculator applications: Anthony Borman 4th, Connor Sweet 5th, 2nd place team*

Editorial Writing: Lauren Cooper 3rd*

Feature Writing: Ashlyn Smith 1st*,Landry Neal 2nd*, Kloe Tallon 3rd*

Headline Writing: Evie Nabors 5th

Informative Speaking: Chloe Roath 2nd*, Madelyn Merritt 6th

Literary Criticism: Chloe Roath 2nd*, Jodi Pope 5th, 2nd place team

Mathematics: Ashlyn Smith 1st*, Jodi Pope 2nd*, Nicole Wang 3rd*, Tori Overby 4th, 1st place team*

Number Sense: Nicole Wang 1st*

News Writing: Landry Neal 2nd*, Ashlyn Smith 5th, Kloe Tallon 6th

Persuasive Speaking: Justin Williams 6th

Poetry Interpretation: Olissa Cornwell 1st*, Bernadette Rivera 5th, Braeden Dillon 6th

Social Studies: Hunter Harris 4th, Chance Roath 6th
