Remote learning phase out

Dear Savoy ISD families,

Beginning November 9th remote learners will be transitioned back to campuses for face to face instruction. We strongly believe that the face to face traditional model is much better academically as well as socially and emotionally. Our teachers have been giving incredible effort and dedication over the last twelve weeks simultaneously serving students at school and on home platforms. Some board members and I met with the teachers at both campuses and they strongly expressed to us that they want the kids back at school. Currently 94% of our students are already back at school. Therefore, beginning November 9th, remote learning students will have the following options:

● Come back to school for in-person learning (this is the one we hope you choose)
● Withdraw the student to homeschool
● Transfer to another district offering virtual instruction

Your student’s safety remains paramount to us. We will continue to observe all safety precautions. The situation often changes suddenly. We could transition some or all back to remote learning at any time if needed.

If you have questions or concerns please contact your student’s building principal. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this unusual time.

Respectfully,

Brian Neal

Superintendent

Savoy I.S.D.
