I am a 2015 graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler, 2003 graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce, and a 1999 graduate of Honey Grove High School.
I hold Master’s of Arts in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I am certified as a School Counselor in grades Pre-K-12 and to teach grades Pre-K through four.
This is my seventeenth year at Savoy ISD, with this year being my second year as the district counselor. I have taught lots of things including, third grade, fourth grade, pre-k, dyslexia, and gifted and talented. I am also the Elementary Campus Testing Coordinator, RtI Coordinator, Dyslexia Interventionist, and 504 Coordinator.
I have been married to my husband, Jeff, for sixteen years. We have two children. Our daughter is eleven and our son is seven. We also have many pets that help comprise our family. We have horses, dogs, a cat, a few cows with plenty of personality, and recently added chickens!
I really enjoy reading, sewing, crafting, and decorating in my free time. I also love to help with events in my church and spending time with family, friends, and church family.
I loved the experience of working as a classroom teacher and am equally excited to have the opportunity to be serving our students social and emotional needs as the School Counselor! In fact, if I ever became a millionaire, I would continue doing what I'm doing; just with better shoes and a housekeeper!
