Hello Savoy Elementary School families!
This school year (2018-19) started off differently than the past 2 years. From mid-September to mid-December, our students got to enjoy a wonderful long-term substitute while I was on maternity leave. She taught all of our students their parts in the 2018 Christmas Program, which turned out great!
Mondays and Fridays in the winter/spring semester of 2019, students will be learning about the elements and principles of art while doing different projects that help them put their new knowledge to work. Tuesdays through Thursdays, students will continue to be on a weekly schedule including English/reading/writing-related programs (usually IStation Reading), a tech learning program (alternating between typing programs and other resources), and math-related programs (Imagine Math and Fast Math). Don’t worry, I throw a few “free days” in there occasionally to give them school-appropriate free time as well.
SES students will come to one of my classes once a day for about 30 minutes each time. I try to make that time count for having some fun while learning in a safe and structured class environment.
I am thankful to know and teach every child at Savoy Elementary. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
